the challenge.
Youthline is a youth mental health charity. Young people reach it more than 260,000 times a year.
Walk the Talk is its big fundraiser. People sign up, walk or move for 30 minutes a day through September, and raise money on their own pages.
Youthline is a name people know. But its own team said it had lost touch with young people. Last year it was not in market on social at all. This year it had from 20 July to 30 September to fill the sign-up list and then keep people moving.
the solution.
The idea was simple. No one walks alone. Every fundraiser should feel like the whole country is walking with them.
We put real people up front. Youthline's own staff, and young people telling their own reasons in their own words. Small creators added reach.
Street interviews did the heavy lifting. We asked people to guess real youth mental health numbers, then landed every one on hope and help. Every number came from Youthline's own checked list.
Care came first. Youthline's clinical team signed off the questions before we filmed anything that touched mental health.
In September we moved to daily content to keep people walking and giving.
