the role

what you'd actually do.

You'd lead the brutal read. The 90-day audit that opens every strategy engagement. You'd build the show stack, write the positioning, and set the metrics that ship with the doc.

Day to day, you're running two to three brand engagements at any one time. Usually a mix of NZ-based DTC, North American CPG, and the occasional UK challenger brand. You're in client meetings most weeks, on Loom most days, and writing the doc every Friday.

You won't be alone. Conor leads the team and pairs in on every doc. A strategist-in-training will pair on audits and dashboards. Creative pairs in for show development.

You'll write. A lot. The doc is the deliverable. Decks are not. If you don't enjoy writing, this isn't the role.

You'll also front client meetings. We don't put strategists behind glass. You'll present the audit, the positioning, the show stack to founders, CMOs and execs.

  • Owned the strategy doc end-to-end, not just contributed slides
  • Comfortable fronting exec meetings
  • Strong writing · better than you talk or roughly the same
  • Auckland-based · 4 days in office, 1 from home
